The 30-Day Window
You may return any unopened, factory-sealed case of Redmond Ordnance ammunition within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase price. To qualify, the product must be:
- In its original packaging with the factory seal intact and the lot label legible.
- Free of writing, tape, or removed labeling on the manufacturer packaging.
- Accompanied by the order number the ammunition was purchased under.
- Stored in normal conditions — not exposed to water, solvents, or extreme heat.
Sealed returns are inspected on arrival to confirm the seal and lot, then refunded. No restocking fee.
Opened Ammunition & Performance Claims
Ammunition is a consumable and cannot be resold once a case is opened, so opened product is not eligible for a change-of-mind return. It is eligible for a refund when something is actually wrong with the round. If a case fails to perform — split cases, failure to fire, inconsistent charges, seating or crimp issues, out-of-spec dimensions, corrosion, or accuracy well outside the published standard — send it back and we will examine it.
Our examination is done in-house against the retained sample from your lot, and covers:
- Lot verification against our production and QC records.
- Visual and dimensional inspection of the returned rounds.
- Projectile weight, overall length, and case-head inspection.
- Powder charge and primer seating verification on a sample of the returned rounds.
- Comparison against the retained control sample from the same lot.
If the examination confirms the ammunition did not meet specification, you are refunded in full — including the return shipping you paid and the original shipping on the order. We will also tell you what we found. If the examination shows the ammunition met specification, we will send you the findings and return the remaining rounds to you at our cost; no refund is issued in that case.
Examinations are typically completed within 10 business days of the ammunition reaching our facility. Lots that require additional testing take longer, and we will tell you if yours is one of them.
How to Start a Return
- Email support@redmondordnance.com with your order number, the caliber and load, and — for a performance claim — what happened, the firearm used, and photos if you have them.
- We issue an RMA number and return instructions. Do not ship anything back without an RMA number; unauthorized returns are refused at the dock.
- Pack the ammunition in a sturdy outer box and ship it ground only. Ammunition is a Class 1.4S hazardous material — it may not travel by air, and the outer box must be marked as the carrier requires.
- Write the RMA number on the outside of the box and on the packing slip.
Refunds
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of inspection. Your bank controls how quickly the credit posts.
- Unopened returns: purchase price refunded in full. Original and return shipping are not refunded unless we shipped the wrong item.
- Confirmed defect: purchase price, original shipping, and your return shipping cost are all refunded.
- Discounts applied at checkout are prorated across the refunded items.
- Partial case returns are refunded at the per-unit price actually paid after any discount.
Damaged or Wrong Shipments
Inspect your order at delivery. Report freight damage, a short count, or the wrong item within 2 business days of delivery with photos of the outer box, the packing slip, and the contents. We replace or refund these at our cost and file the carrier claim ourselves — see the Shipping Policy for details.
What We Cannot Accept
- Ammunition that has been reloaded, pulled down, disassembled, or otherwise altered.
- Ammunition damaged by improper storage, water, solvents, or use in a firearm it is not chambered for.
- Product marked final sale or clearance at the time of purchase.
- Returns from anyone who is not legally permitted to possess or ship ammunition, or from a jurisdiction we are not permitted to ship to.
- Returns received more than 30 days after the RMA was issued.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under applicable federal or state law, and it does not replace a manufacturer warranty claim on a firearm — ammunition claims are handled here.
